Extreme Makeover, Upscale Casual Edition

Written by Yellow House
One of the recent projects we’re proud of is the creation of the Rice Mediterranean Kitchen Brand. Our clients are the brains behind Rice House of Kabob, a popular dining chain in Miami. And they hired us to help respond to the changing expectations of consumers and the move toward more personalized, build-it-yourself, upscale casual cuisine. This was an extreme makeover!
Here are some logo treatments we designed:

Our design director Sarai Nunez worked with Rice over a six-month period on brand generation.
After about six logo options and three revision rounds, we finalized the brand kit, collateral and store signage for Rice Kitchen.
Our copywriters and digital strategists created a newly optimized social media and web presence for them, showcasing the brand’s emphasis on wellness, and more openly touting the family-owned, local ownership of this venerable business. We created everything from the web site to the staff uniforms to the new packaging:

If you’re in Miami, be sure to stop by Rice Mediterranean Kitchen, especially the flagship new location in Coral Gables.
